This menu was printed for the celebratory luncheon organised by the Singapore City Council at City Hall to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation Day on 2 June 1953. The Guest of Honour of the event was Singapore’s Governor Sir John Nicoll. It contains on the last page signatures of the guests that day, including President of the City Council T.P.F. McNiece, City Councillor Mrs Robert Eu, who was also the first woman elected to public office in Singapore, and banker Yap Pheng Geck who was captain of the Chinese Volunteer Corps during the Japanese Military Occupation of Singapore.
