This is a group of accessories that form part of the elaborate costume of a Theyyam dancer. This group of accessories consists of anklets, part of arm accessories, part of the headgear, props (sword and sickle) and bells.Theyyam, also known as Kaliyattam or Thirayattam is a dance form from Northern Kerala where it is exclusively performed in temples. It is part of an invocation ceremony where the dancer literally transforms into the deity and bestows blessings upon the viewers during the course of his performance.
