This is a brochure titled Hong Kong the Riviera of the Orient. Its title draws associations to the French and Italian Rivieras, which were idyllic tourist locations. It seeks to promote Hong Kong as a similarly idyllic tourist location, highlighting holiday activities for the wealthy such as yachting, motoring, tennis and a visit to the Bathing Beach at Repulse Bay. Dating from 1936, this brochure was produced after Hong Kong had built bus routes and hotels in areas such as Repulse Bay to attract tourists.
