5'x5' (Inched Deep)

In 1972, CCH, then a student in the UK, submitted a proposal to the Modern Art Society in Singapore – instructions for a blank square measuring 5’x5’, to be drawn over the space of a wall and the adjoining floor, bisected only by the line demarcating the two. The work was to be titled Singapore River. It was rejected.5' x 5' (Inched Deep) is a recreation of the work in the form of a line incised into the floor and wall in the National Gallery.
