Trolley buses replaced trams as the main mode of transport in Singapore by the late 1920s. The trolley buses were a part of the public transport system for more than 30 years, which was run mainly by the Singapore Traction Company (STC). The STC was the first public motor transport company in Singapore, and this trolley bus featured in this photograph serviced the route between Tanjong Pagar and Geylang, one of the four bus services available at that time.
