This is a pair of metallic thread embroidered slipper faces dating to either the 1920s or 1930s. It is decorated with a phoenix motif with geometric patterns. Similar to the beaded versions, after the embroidery work was done, these would then subsequently be sent to shoemakers to make the embroidered slippers worn by Peranakan women.
