Songket chair cover

This is one of a pair of long purple and silver metallic thread chair covers with a dragon motif, symbolizing the male, and the eternity knot, a Buddhist emblem at the seat. At the top of the chair cover is the Chinese character for happiness as well as the motif of a bat, a symbol for prosperity. This would have been used together with a cushion cover to adorn chairs meant for important ceremonies during weddings.
