Calligraphy scroll in memory of the sacrifices of Neo Tiew's family in the anti-Japanese war

This is a calligraphy scroll written in memory of the sacrifices of Neo Tiew's (Leong Huo Chu, 1884-1975) family in the anti-Japanese war. The scroll was signed by the Chairman of Chinese Government Overseas Chinese Affair Committee, Republic of China, Mr. Gao Xin from Xing Hui County. 35 members of Neo Tiew's family were massacred by the Japanese Army on 14th February 1942.Neo was a Chinese community leader who supported the anti-Japanese war and was head of the Singapore branch of the Kuomintang (KMT) Youth League of the Three Principles of the People (YLTPP). He was also responsible for the development of the Lim Chu Kang area from the early 20th century to the 1950s. Neo Tiew Road, Neo Tiew Lane and Neo Tiew Crescent are named after him.
