Chua Tiag Ming (T. M. Chua) was a photographer involved in the salon photography movement in Singapore in the 1960s and 1970s. During this period, he documented various aspects of labour in Singapore, especially the vanishing trades. The figure of the lone labourer is highlighted in this photograph under the shadow of a pile of wood.
