The Sungai Besi Airport initially started as an airstrip in the 1930s before it was converted into Malaysia’s first international airport in the 1950s. It was later turned into a base for the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) after it was replaced by Subang Airport as the nation’s international airport.
