Located in the state of Selangor, approximately 13 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, Batu Caves is a sacred place for Hindu devotees. First discovered in 1892, it has since attracted both pilgrims and tourists alike. Batu Caves is a limestone hill which consists of three large caves and several smaller ones. The largest cave known as the Temple Cave features a 100-metre high ceiling and Hindu shrines, where visitors have to climb a flight of 272 steps to reach it.
