Stereoscopes (a handheld device to project 3D images from reels) were popular among children during the post-war period in the 1950s. They were a form of entertainment that children would pay to view. This item belonged to Ms Ng's father, who opened The Brilliant Studio in Singapore during the early 20th century. The Brilliant Studio specialised in studio portraiture, which was the trend in those days. Her father was taken away by the Japanese during the Japanese Occupation and never returned.
