The items belonged to donor Ms. Ng Chee Sun's father, who opened The Brilliant Studio in Singapore during the early 20th century. The Brilliant Studio specialised in studio portraiture, which was the trend in those days. Her father was taken away by the Japanese during the Japanese Occupation and never returned.
