Born in 1979 in Thailand, Yuree Kensaku is a visual arts graduate from Bangkok University. Of Japanese and Thai descent, she has exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions in Thailand as well as internationally at the Yokohama Museum of Art (2007), and the Kuandu Biennale in Taipei, Taiwan (2010). Kensaku is known for her pop-surrealist aesthetics, in which she combines her paintings with everyday items and discarded objects. Weaving them into a stylized form of narrative illustration, she highlights environmental concerns in depictions of an ecological Armageddon, a theme that appears frequently in her works.
