This white embroidered kebaya belonged to Constance Sheares, the daughter of Singapore’s second president, Mr. Benjamin Sheares (1971–1981). She was also a curator at the National Museum of Singapore in the 1970s and 1980s. The kebaya was bought from Peter Wee, owner of the Katong Antique House and Singapore’s leading authority on Peranakan culture.
