This dress with black lace belonged to Ms. Lee Chor Lin, the current director of the National Museum of Singapore. Originally a bustier dress, the velvet straps were added on by Ms. Lee. A lace panel runs vertically and horizontally across the back of the dress while it fans out at the end of the dress. This not only enhances the design of this otherwise simple dress but also makes it easier for the wearer to move around. Thakoon Panichgul is a Thai-born American designer.
