The obverse features the MAS building with the financial district in the background and a radiating pattern of micro-letterings with the phrase: ‘Monetary Authority of Singapore 25th Anniversary’. It symbolises MAS’ key role in the financial sector. The reverse features the financial district skyline with the MAS building at a distance and a radiating pattern of micro-letterings spelling out various financial services. It symbolises Singapore’s importance as a major global financial centre. The abacus and computer keyboard shows the transition from the old to new while the illustration of the SIMEX trading floor represents the ‘people’ element in the financial sector.
