This is an egg beater with a wooden handle and circular brass rings. Such tools were commonplace in the Peranakan kitchen. They were used to prepare the ingredients for the various kinds of Nonya foods, such as kueh like “Kueh cara berlauk” which is made using eggs, flour, coconut milk and turmeric.
