This evenly potted earthenware dish has sloping walls and is decorated with incised concentric circles at the centre. Wares of this type were mainly found in gravesites, in the Tak-Omkoi border area between north Thailand and Myanmar. Scholars have suggested the tin-glaze technology was inspired by Islamic ceramics of the 9th century via India. Yet others have suggested that 15th century Chinese blue and white wares inspired the painted designs.
