“NOTHING” No. 2

Born in 1950 in Singapore, Ho Chee Lick was a student of Singapore’s pioneer artists Chen Wen Hsi and Chen Chong Swee from 1962 to 1967. An accomplished artist who favours painting in ink and colours, Ho has since 1965, participated in several exhibitions, including three solo exhibitions between 1990 and 2002. He is also a scholar of English language and literature.‘NOTHING No. 2’ is a demonstration of Ho’s continual experimentation with Chinese ink. Here the interaction between the three elements – water, ink and rice paper – leave intriguing patterns as organic forms spread and consume the surface. ‘NOTHING No. 2’ was selected for exhibition at the Singapore Art Exhibition in 2009.
