Chinese book, ‘The Past of Malaysia’s Chinese Literary Arts Scene ’

This book was published by Xing Yun Publisher (星云出版社). The author, Fang Xiu (方修), born Goh Tze Kwong (吴之光), was active in propaganda work against the aggressors during the Japanese Occupation in Singapore. The pioneer of modern Malayan-Singapore Chinese Literature developed his interest in this field when he was working as an editor of the Chinese language newspaper, Sin Chew Jit Poh. One of his most famous works was a ten-volume anthology on works of Singapore’s and Malaya’s Chinese writers.
