This woodblock print by contemporary artist, Le Quoc Viet, is based on a traditional Vietnamese folktale about two lovers Xiao Shi and Nong Yu.Le Quoc Viet is one of a few contemporary artists who is seriously engaging with the cultural history of Vietnam. Viet spent 10 years living in a monastery researching the history of Buddhist printed texts and studying the Han Nom written language. His works are now collected by museums around the world.
