The Tse Tho Aum Temple is a Buddhist temple situated at the junction of Sin Ming Drive and Sin Ming Avenue in Bishan. Besides serving as a religious site of worship, the temple also functions as a crematorium for Buddhists to cremate their deceased. Indeed, the temple’s crematorium is one of only two privately run cremation facilities in Singapore, the other being found in the nearby Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (more popularly known as Bright Hill Temple). The usual practice in the Tse Tho Aum crematorium is for mourners to leave once the coffin is placed in the furnace room, while at Bright Hill Temple mourners witness the whole cremation process in the ceremonial hall.
