Invitation card to witness a sod turning ceremony for the Singapore Constitution Exposition

This is an invitation card given to a guest of the sod turning ceremony (a symbolic turning of the ground surface, similar to a groundbreaking ceremony) for the Singapore Constitution Exposition on 22 October 1958. The Exposition was a large event that opened on 31 January the following year and lasted for two months. The aim of the Exposition was to commemorate Singapore’s transition from colonial status to self-government.
