This pair of ear discs come from the Bugis people of South Sulawesi. They are densely decorated with wire filigree and granulation. Similar ear ornaments also exist in Java and Sumatra. The discs required large lobe holes. In Java, the popularity of such ornaments declined in the 19th century.
