This scrapbook album belonged to Pte R.J. Tarrant of 1st Battalion Middlesex Regiment. It contains various pictures showing life in Singapore and the Far East, including: a very rare 1936 regimental Christmas card from Gillman Barracks, Singapore; aerial photographs of Gillman Barracks with a site plan of the names of the buildings within the camp; a Star Theatre, Alhambra and Pavilion cinema tickets; a Malaya café menu; dance coupons for the New World and Great World cabarets; and a picture of the Fort Canning entrance.
