This is a guidebook in Chinese titled ‘Guide to Singapore’ (新加坡嘉新, Xinjiapojiaxin). It contains listings of government, transport and communication agencies, timetables, local attractions, religious and education establishments, as well as various business and clan associations. The guidebook was part of a series produced by Phua Xing Rong’s (潘醒衣, Pan Xing Yi) Nantao Publishing House (南岛出版社, Nandaochubanshe), which was the main Chinese travel guide publisher during the 1950s and 1960s.
