The Jurong Hill-Top Restaurant, which was housed in a tower structure, was situated on the summit of Jurong Hill and offered visitors a panoramic view of the nearby Jurong Industrial Estate. The restaurant, the first in Jurong Town, started business in May 1970 and was officially opened by Inche Othman Wok, then Minister for Social Affairs, a month later. The restaurant’s management team had ambitious plans to expand the business by setting up a nightclub, coffee house and tea kiosk on the premises. Such ambitious plans eventually fell through when the restaurant was closed down in 1976 due to poor business.
