The Singapore Science Centre specialises in the promotion of scientific and technological knowledge to the general public. In 1969, the Science Council of Singapore suggested relocating scientific-related artefacts from the National Museum to another institution. This idea was in line with the government’s vision to promote scientific education to develop Singapore’s technological sector. The Singapore Science Centre was then officially opened on 10 December 1977.
