Zulkifli, however, retold the stories from a local's perspective, highlighting social concerns. Represented here in an apparent yet semi-abstract manner, the essence of cock-fighting are brought forth, highlighting features of the rooster and its swift lethal spikes. Regarded as a phenomenon during the region's colonial times, cockfights is deemed as an ancient ritual, are currently marginalized due to its affinity to gambling and unethical treatment of animals.
