Seen here is a pewter mug engraved with the words “PAP GOLF TOURNAMENT 1988” that belonged to the late Mr Lim Kim San.Mr Lim was an energetic Singaporean statesman and public servant, who cemented his reputation as “Mr. HDB” for his contributions in housing the population of Singapore as the first Chairman of the Housing and Development Board. In recognition of his accomplishment, he became the first person to be awarded the nation's highest honour, the Order of Temasek (Darjah Utama Temasek), in 1962. During his distinguished public service career, Mr Lim held ministerial positions in various ministries from finance, education, defence to environment. He was Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisors and had also chaired various boards such as Port of Singapore Authority, Singapore Press Holdings and Monetary Authority of Singapore.Mr Lim was also a competent and ardent golfer. He loved the sport so much that one of his last wishes was for some of his ashes to be scattered on his favourite golf courses.
