A rare book, entitled ‘Nederlandsch Oost-Indische typen: verzameling van grote gelithografeerde platen in kleurdruk naar de natuur getekend’ by Auguste van Pers

The book by Auguste van Pers contains 56 coloured lithographic plates accompanied by explanatory texts on the different ethnic groups in 19th century Java under Dutch colonial rule. This is one of only two recorded editions with 56 plates. The other copy can be found in the collection of the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam.
