The Swiss packaged food corporation Nestlé produced a widely consumed Milkmaid brand of sweetened condensed milk that came in tin cans. On the back of tin labels there were pictures of butterflies found in Malaysia as part of a marketing campaign. This album, sold for collectors of the tin labels, belongs to a series of objects (accession nos. 2007-50972 to 51483) that document the lifestyle and consumption of a typical Chinese upper middle-class family in the mid 20th century.
