This painting depicts the inner shrine of the Shrinathaji temple where the Maharajshri is performing 'arati' (waving of the lamp) before the deity. It is like a photographic record of an important person performing puja before the deity. It is painted in a traditional style of the 19th century Mewar painting which had by then assimilated a lot of European naturalism and photographic realism.
