‘Aag’ is a Hindi movie which was produced and directed by Raj Kapoor. He also starred in the film with famous Indian actress, Nargis. Hindi films were popular in Singapore, especially among the Indian and Malay communities. Early Malay films derived inspiration from Hindi films and appealed to the Malay audience as the similarities between the two were obvious.
