The Ladyhill Hotel, originally owned by tycoon Tan Sri Khoo Teck Puat’s Goodwood Group, was opened in 1968. It was managed then by the Swedish-born and Swiss-educated Mrs. Cecilia Seow, a former fashion model and wife of Mr. Philip Seow. Mr. Seow was the manager of the former Marco Polo Hotel at Tanglin Road. Permission to redevelop the hotel’s site for residential use was secured by the Goodwood Group in 1997 and the land was subsequently sold to Mr. Simon Cheong, CEO of high-end property developer SC Global in 1999. A new luxurious condominium project, called The Ladyhill, was completed on the site in 2002.
