This postcard depicts the Singapore Club building at Fullerton Square which was named after Robert Fullerton, the first Governor of the Straits Settlements. The Tan Kim Seng Fountain, visible in front of the building, was installed in honour of Tan Kim Seng who donated $13,000 in 1857 towards building Singapore’s first public waterworks to ensure a better supply of fresh water to the town.
