Islam is differentiated from other religions in that it acknowledges Muhammad as the Prophet. For Muslims, he is the last Prophet, and this manuscript elaborates on his genealogy. On these opening pages, his name is partially encased within a circular medallion –Muhammad bin ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abdul Mutallib bin Taimiy, and so on. The names of the Prophet’s wives, children, close companions, and so on are also listed. This manuscript also contains prayers and blessings for the Prophet.
