A Malay wedding procession usually involves the groom, accompanied by his friends and relatives, leading the wedding procession to the bride’s home. After a short moment at the bride’s wedding reception, the couple will then proceed to the groom’s home along with their friends and relatives for another wedding reception. Afterwards, the couple will return to the bride’s home where they will retreat to the bridal chamber which was set up during the ‘akad nikah’ (solemnisation) ceremony.
