This eight-sided Sawankhalok jar has a light grey glazed body with a tinge of brown. Each of the eight panels is decorated with simple floral design.Sawankhalok wares were exported widely in Southeast Asia at various periods. The Sawankhalok kilns in the Sukothai – Si Satchanalai area produced large quantities of greenwares during the 14th-16th centuries. Many of these have thick green glazes similar to the famous Longquan celadons from Zhejiang province in China.
