Propaganda leaflets were printed and disseminated by the British forces to fight the insurrection known as the Malayan Emergency. This leaflet reads: “Communists who were misled to join the party and have not committed serious crimes like murder will be pardoned upon surrender.” It was reported that 48 communists surrendered between September and December 1949 after reading this leaflet.
