This is a picture postcard of a Malay itinerant hawker and Malay children. This was a common sight in most 'kampongs'. The itinerant hawkers/peddlers would move from one village to another with a portable hawker-stand slung over his shoulder on a bamboo pole, selling food to the villagers.
