This is a book entitled ‘Malayan Fables’ by Ann Parkinson. It consists of stories retold from the Malay Annals that were first written by Raja Bongsu and translated to English by C.C. Brown. This book was written to cater for the lack of Malayan-based storybooks for children. The author hoped that the children of Malaya would find pleasure in reading stories they could identify with and at the same time learn more about their background and heritage.
