Straits Chinese bowls tend to be shallower and range in size from 10 to 20 cm in diameter. This bowl features the standard phoenix-and-peony motif and has a prominent everted rim which is filled with the eight Buddhist emblems. The rim is also scalloped and gilded on the edges.
