Also called Yingmu, which literally means shadow wood, Huamu derives its name from its cloudy and curly looking grains resembling bud formations. It is grown on the root or trunk of any tree and is commonly called 'shugeda' or wood cut from a large knot or twisted root. There are many kinds of huamu and materials can come from the branches and roots. Huamu is mostly used to make the surface of the furniture while other kinds of wood are used for the frames.
