This brass Vaishanavite lamp is also known as Lakshmi lamp as it depicts Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and good fortune, and consort of Vishnu. Visually interesting, this lamp appears to look like a seat or throne of a deity. The lamp has four smaller figures of Lakshmi seated along the rim and the sides while the central one is surmounted by a single-hooded naga (serpent) and flanked on either side by peacocks.
