Straits Chinese bowls tend to be shallower and range in size from 10 to 20 cm in diameter. This bowl features the standard phoenix-and-peony motif and has prominent everted rims which are filled with the eight Buddhist emblems. The rims are also scalloped and gilded on the edges.
