A mufradat is an album which contains pages in which the Arabic letters are written in various forms. Calligraphers write these pages for practice and also for use as exemplars for students to study. This album has been written by a famous 17th century Ottoman calligrapher, Hafiz Osman. This mufradat is done in concertina form with 17 pages of calligraphy written in thulth and naskh scripts. The text area is decorated with floral devices, the borders are of erbu or marbled paper which was added. The first and penultimate pages have seal impressions dated (1094 or 1682CE).
