This dessert bowl is part of a set of Peranakan dining ware, known collectively as pinggan mangkok. The design on the bowl features auspicious Buddhist symbols of the jar and the conch shell. It is used for serving sweet desserts like kueh ee, glutinous rice bowls in syrup.
