The centrefield of the ‘kain lepas’ (‘skirtcloth’) features stylised birds and floral motifs, while the end panels are decorated with triangular ornamentation. Unlike a sarong, skirtcloths were not joined at the ends. It was wrapped around the waist, with the excess cloth folded into a pleat at the front.
